Summer Fun Quiz

• August 10, 2013 • Comments (1)

To help keep your mind sharp in these dog days of Summer, I put together a quiz using some of the great songs of Summer from the 1960s.

The first person to correctly name the title of the song and the artist will win either a Midtown Men baseball T or a Sixties Hits CD!  The next three will win a Midtown Club key chain.

Please don’t answer here – let’s make everyone work for it! Email your answers to tmmclub@comcast.net, and I will post the winners next week. Have fun!

Song #1

At huntington and malibu
They’re shooting the pier
At rincon they’re walking the nose

Song #2

Whenever he calls my name
So slow, sweet and plain
I feel, yeah, yeah,
well I feel that burning flame

Song #3

The tides roll by and waves of love
Will sweep into your hear
If that’s the way it’s meant to be
We’ll never, never part

Song #4

Is it a matter of pride, riding waves so high?
Seems to touch the sky
Waves that rock and sway
Ooh, takes my breath away

Song #5

Oh Lord, I got to raise a fuss,
Lord I got to raise a holler
About a workin’ all summer just to try to earn a dollar

Song #6

That’s when I had most of my fun
back High, high, high, high there
Them summer days,
those summer days

Song #7

All summer long
we spent groovin’ in the sand
Everybody kept on playin’
Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band

Song #8

It’s a groovy day,
you’re a groovy girl,
throw your cares away,
it’s a groovy world

Song #9

But at night it’s a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come-on come-on and dance all night
Despite the heat it’ll be alright
