Still looking for the perfect gift for that special someone in your life? Well, if you will be in the New York City area for Mother’s Day, look no further!
Daniel Reichard will perform a special Mother’s Day concert – Friends, Acquaintances, and Strangers – tomorrow at Birdland Jazz Club!
“New York City is blessed with an abundance of gifted people, several of whom I know well, others whom I’ve known casually over the years, and many of whom I have never met, but admired from afar,” says Reichard. “That’s what this show is about — celebrating the great times we can all have when we get together on any given night in the Big Apple. This evening will be a once-in-a-lifetime event.”

THE FRIDAY SIX: Q&As with Your Favorite Broadway Stars- Feinstein’s/54 Below-Bound Daniel Reichard
In this week’s edition of BroadwayWorld’s THE FRIDAY SIX, the BWW Staff caught up with Daniel Reichard, who will bring his solo show, Daniel Reichard Celebrates Rodgers and Hammerstein, to Feinstein’s/54 Below on February 5 (9:30PM).
What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?
The first Broadway show I ever saw was KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN. I was visiting New York City with my family, and that was a huge show at the time. I saw it, I loved it, and I met Chita Rivera (for the first time) at the stage door. The next night was CRAZY FOR YOU.
What is your most unique pre-show ritual?
Meditation. For big shows especially. When The Midtown Men were playing The Beacon in New York City, I remember waking up and saying, “I have to do a guided meditation. My mind will be at 100 miles per hour today.” I did two Deepak Chopra meditations, and I was as cool as a cucumber all day and for the whole show. It really helps to do before intense moments in our lives.
What is your most memorable “the show must go on” moment?
Many of my favorite “the show must go on” moments have happened across the country with The Midtown Men. When you are a rock and roll band, performing in different cities night after night, crazy things are bound to happen. We were in some city in Iowa, and there was a torrential storm happening outside the venue and the power in the whole building went out. The emergency lights lit up the theatre, and we asked everyone to relax and our drummer and flutist played “California Dreaming” and we did the song without amplification. The audience went crazy.
What is the one role you want to play before you die?
Cornelius Hackl in HELLO DOLLY. Hint hint! I love old school Broadway because those Golden Age shows were the gateway to my love of Broadway.
Who is your Broadway crush?
Female crush would be the one and only Kelli O’Hara, because she is beautiful, smart, and talented. Male crush would have to be the choreographer Patrick McCollum because he is wonderful in every way.

“It’s a full 1960s music experience.”
The Midtown Men set bring ‘Jersey Boys’ sound to SFSC
Marc Valero | Highlands Today Published: December 3, 2015
AVON PARK — The Midtown Men — the four original stars from Broadway’s “Jersey Boys” — will perform songs of the Four Seasons, the holiday season and the 1960s at South Florida State College this month.
Tickets are still available for the concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 15 in the Alan Jay Wildstein Center for the Performing Arts.
After their three-season run on Broadway, The Midtown Men are together again wearing their Rat Pack-style suits and singing the sixties hits with a modern twist.
Daniel Reichard, who portrayed Bob Gaudio of the Four Seasons, spoke to Highlands Today by phone on Tuesday about the “Jersey Boys” and The Midtown Men.
As Gaudio sang the tenor parts under Frankie Valli in the Four Seasons, Reichard sings the tenor part in The Midtown Men.
The original cast members of the “Jersey Boys” came from different backgrounds and didn’t know each other before the show’s initial run in La Jolla, Calif., Reichard said.
“We were just put together by chance,” he said. “We formed life-long bonds by doing the show together.”

It’s that time of year again – time for Daniel’s annual Holiday Concert! Who wouldn’t want to be under the mistletoe with these two handsome gentlemen?
Daniel Reichard, veteran of Broadway’s Jersey Boys, returns to Birdland Jazz Club at 6pm on December 13 and 20 for his eighth New York City holiday concert, Daniel Reichard’s Under the Mistletoe! Featuring an eight-piece band, the concert will include holiday favorites originally popularized by artists like Bing Crosby, Tony Bennett, and Johnny Mathis, along with Christmas stories and unexpected guest stars and surprises.
All of the proceeds from the show will go to Broadway Barks, an organization founded 17 years ago by Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore, which helps New York City’s shelter animals find permanent homes. Every year, Broadway Barks hosts a star-studded dog and cat adoption event in Shubert Alley, which is produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
“My holiday show is a very special tradition,” says Reichard, “because not only is it entertaining for audiences, but it involves everyone in the spirit of giving at Christmastime. Having happily participated at the Broadway Barks adoption event in the past, I am so proud to further support this important organization. My dog has changed my life for the better. So many helpless dogs and cats need homes, and Broadway Barks reminds us that we need to take care of them. Our animals give us so much back in return.”
November 8th was a banner day in Midtown Manhattan when Jersey Boys celebrated 10 years on Broadway – the 12th longest running show in Broadway history! And our Midtown Men were there – for the celebration, yes, but they were also there 10 years ago, when it was all still ahead of them…
Fans were thrilled to see them get the recognition and love they so deserve!
Here are some of my favorite pictures from this once-in-a-lifetime experience!
What a thrill it was to run into these gentlemen in the lobby of the August Wilson before the show!
The energy and excitement from the stage permeated the theater and continued down the street to a star-studded party at the beautiful Novotel Hotel.

We want people to laugh and smile and feel wonderful emotions in an experience of an era of music. DR
The Midtown Men play Milwaukee’s Marcus Center this Friday night. In anticipation of the event, Daniel Reichard shared what it was like being the first to play Bob Gaudio on Broadway and how the four men have come to tour as The Midtown Men. Following is an excerpt from the Examiner. Click here to read the interview in its entirety.
DR: It’s incredible … you just feel lucky. But then to do what we’ve done as far as creating Midtown Men- I’m even more proud of doing Midtown Men than I am of doing “Jersey Boys” and it’s because it’s something that we’ve created from our own experiences- we choreographed it together, we produced it together, we’ve directed it together, we picked our own suits together, we’ve overseen every creative decision surrounding this and it really is a reflection of who we are as a quartet…. So we took this little dream and we ran with it.
EC: What do you hope audiences get from seeing The Midtown Men?
DR: I hope that people truly get an evening of their lives when they come see us where they get to turn of the screens on their iPhones, turn off the TVs and enjoy live music. Whether they grew up to these songs or they’re young people hearing these songs for the first time, they get to forget all of the things going on outside- all the chaos of our world. We want people to laugh and smile and feel wonderful emotions in a experience of an era of music.
The Midtown Men perform one night only at Milwaukee’s Marcus Center on Friday, November 20 at 8 pm. Tickets are available online or by calling 414-273-7206.
