2015 was a big year for The Midtown Men: a second fantastic PBS special, more symphony shows, national and regional television appearances, and a huge show at the Beacon in NYC. Not to mention dozens of concerts for old friends and new fans across the country.
Lucky for us, these are not guys who rest on their laurels; in fact, The Men have an even bigger 2016 ahead!
Coming up in April, The Men will travel to the Pacific Northwest before heading back down to Florida, with stops in a couple of southern states along the way.
Yes, exciting things are in store for OUR fab four and their fans, so be sure to check back here often for updates on where the Men have been, and where they are heading! And check out the concert calendar to find a show near you!
Comments are always welcome – in fact they are encouraged! And feel free to send along any pictures you want to share – email@example.com.
It’s a gorgeous day in sunny Florida today, with temperatures in the low 70′s, not a cloud in the sky and best of all for Florida, no humidity. But by 7:30 tonight, it will be hot, hot, hot as The Midtown Men steam it up at the Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach!
A huge thank you to Carol VanSalisbury and Melissa Aldrich who worked so hard to help fill this vast 2500 seat space. The Midtown STREET CREW is awesome!!
Stay tuned for a first-hand account of the show, as I will be in attendance tonight, rockin’ alongside Carol, Missi and the MEN!
After a hugely successful show in Easton, PA last night, The Midtown Men have moved on to Clinton Township, MI, the next stop on their “Full House” Tour. (I just made that name up, but it certainly fits, doesn’t it?)
The Men will play two shows at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts – 8:00 tonight (Saturday, January 26) and 3:00 tomorrow afternoon (Sunday, January 27.) [click here for ticket information]
Although it’s below freezing in Michigan today, we know the Men will heat up the Macomb this weekend! And the Michigan weather aside, Midtown Man Daniel Reichard says he is “excited to be back in his college state! Go Blue!”
The Midtown Men have been so busy this week, traveling from one beautiful venue to another, soaking up the local culture and spreading joy to fans, old and new. But I truly believe that no town, in fact, no one person, has been anxiously awaiting THIS day more than the town of Utica, NY and fantastic fan extraordinaire Rosemary Caruso!
Rosemary has been following Michael, Christian, Daniel and Bobby since the days of Jersey Boys, when she would make the trip from Utica to Manhattan to be thrilled by their amazing talents time and again. And she’s not the only one! She has a friend who actually arranged bus trips from Utica and Syracuse to see Jersey Boys. And tonight’s show at the Stanley Theatre is not much different. After years of traveling to The Big Apple and to the NY State Fair to see her beloved MEN, Rosemary and her friends finally have the opportunity to “host” them right in their own back yard. And they have been hard at work for months spreading the word, helping to boost ticket sales, and make THIS STOP a memorable one for The Midtown Men. Now that’s dedication!
It was pretty much a no-brainer where I should turn for information on Utica! Rosemary was more than happy to share some of her favorite spots with The Midtown Men and their fans. Here they are, in no particular order:
** the Stanley Theaterhas a beautiful chandelier built right in Utica. It is all stained glass, made by Meyda Tiffany. It is said to be the biggest in the world. So, if you can take your eyes off the stage long enough, don’t forget to look up!
** Pumpernickel’s NY Deli was voted #1 lunch spot for three years running;
** The Saranac Brewery is over 120 years old;
** Last but certainly not least, Café Canole Bistro and Pastry Shop – the home of the best Italian pastries!
Thank you so much Rosemary, not only for your insight into Utica, but for your unwavering, unbelievable devotion to OUR Midtown Men!

And the River Center certainly does know how to celebrate! After what is sure to be a thrilling experience with The Midtown Men, the crowd will have the opportunity to prolong the experience with complimentary pink champagne, punch, and pink-and-yellow frosted petit fours in the lobby!
Guests are invited to commemorate this historic event by taking a picture in front of the huge birthday cake in the lobby! And I invite fans to share their Midtown Men pics with others here on the fan site. Just email them to firstname.lastname@example.org and I will post them in the “fan gallery.”

Hmm…my 20th Anniversay is coming up…and my birthday for that matter…wonder if I can get The Midtown Men to help ME celebrate?!?

The Midtown Men are in Houston, Texas for the Labor Day weekend, mixing their awesome sixties sound with The Houston Symphony. If you are in town to see them, there is no shortage of things to do and places to visit. After all, Houston is home to many cultural institutions and exhibits, which attract more than 7 million visitors a year to the Museum District. Houston also has an active visual and performing arts scene in the Theatre District and offers year-round resident companies in all major performing arts.
I wanted to get an “insider’s” take on hot spots in Houston, so I asked my 26 year old niece, Lindsay (who lived and worked downtown for a couple of years) to name a few places to eat and visit. Off the top of her head, she rattled off many great ideas:
For eating and drinking, and I quote: ”An amazing grocery/eatery - Central Market; Little Bigs for sliders; coffee at Black Hole; nice Mexican brunch at Tilas; super chill coffee and late night eating/drinking at Brasil; fancy bar with fancy drinks - Anvil; beer garden – Ginger Man; your Greek fix at Niko Nikos and Barnabys; Crescent City beignets are great; and a big fat kolache at the Kolache Factory …What was the question again?”
It’s too bad she didn’t get out much while she was there!

The Midtown Men cap off a couple of AMAZING days with the launch of their 2012-2013 National Tour in historic Asbury Park, NJ tonight! What a great opportunity for concert-goers to make a day of it at the Asbury Park Boardwalk. And what advice can I give? Enjoy the beach, use plenty of sunscreen, eat, drink, play games, people-watch! And then cap it all off with the best concert you’ve ever attended. Enjoy.

The Midtown Men are on a roll! Not only will they “officially” begin their 2012-2013 concert tour in legendary Asbury Park on Saturday, August 18th, but the tour will be kicked off in great style with a full page spread in this Sunday’s edition of the NY Times, followed by an appearance on Good Morning America on Thursday!
Those of us who have been following Christian, Bobby, Daniel and Michael since the beginning knew that it was just a matter of time before they started making national headlines. We’ve had many discussions on the importance of a “morning show” appearance. And I for one am thrilled that so many will now have the opportunity to enjoy what we have been enjoying for years – not only the fabulous sound these four talented gentlemen bring to the best music of the sixties, but the humble, kind and generous men that they are.
Congratulations, MEN…you deserve every bit of the spotlight, and I know you will enjoy every minute of it!
Stay tuned for information on more media coverage of The Midtown Men in the coming week … (teaser…AP video interview, among others …)
The Freeman Stage at Bayside, an outdoor performing arts venue four miles west of Fenwick Island, Delaware, has grown by leaps and bounds since it was first opened in 2008 by the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation. The venue presents approximately 50 exceptional arts experiences a year between Memorial Day and Labor Day; including dance, theatre, live music and children’s shows. And tomorrow night, August 1, 2012, The Stage will be host to a sold-out show featuring the sexy 60s sounds of The Midtown Men!
What better way to experience this Fab Four – Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard and J. Robert Spencer – than sitting on a blanket on a warm summer evening, sipping a glass of wine and swaying to the beat of “Oh What A Night”? And what better way to experience this glorious country of ours than to follow The Midtown Men as they make their way from town to town, state to state.
The Midtown Club’s “NEXT STOP” will guide you through the tour, whether you can join in or not, you won’t feel left out!
NEXT STOP: The Freeman Stage at Bayside in Selbyville, DE!
Selbyville isn’t called ”the gateway to the beach” for nothing! There are several fabulous beach towns to visit with an hour drive, so it might be hard to know where to start. But let’s just head due East and see where that takes us…
…Fenwick Island is a fairly quiet beach town immediately across the state line from Ocean City, Maryland. Visitors may choose to hit the beach or Fenwick Island State Park, wander around DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum, or, for the more adventurous, check out DelMara Board Sport Adventures. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, you may want to head over to the Fenwick Crab House. According to Coastal Living Magazine, “This family-owned restaurant maintains a relaxed, rustic spirit and serves huge portions of seafood, such as Alaskan snow crab legs, in metal buckets. The meaty blackfin crab cakes are famous.”
From there, head up the coast about 10 miles to Bethany Beach. The family friendly boardwalk is small, clean and with a great variety of activities and a lot of fun. Got a sweet tooth? Head over to Beach Break Bakrie & Cafe, 123 Garfield Parkway, for some great homemade muffins or sandwiches. They also have a huge variety of cupcakes available!
Another 15 miles up the beach will find you in the “wild atmosphere” of Dewey Beach. If it’s meal time, you may want to stop in at Chicken Ed’s, which enjoys a cult following for its fresh, steamed blue crabs dusted with Old Bay seasoning; BYOB.
A bit further up the coast is the more “cosmopolitan” bustle of Rehoboth Beach, where the aromas of sea and saltwater taffy fill your senses when you arrive. Park the car and stretch your legs. Almost everything you need lies within walking distance of the mile-long Boardwalk–flanked by beach and Atlantic Ocean on one side and restaurants and shops on the other. Not to be missed – a bucket of fries from Thrasher’s French Fries – a boardwalk staple.

One of the things that has always impressed me about The Midtown Men, besides their obvious talent, is the way they take full advantage of the opportunities presented them. Whether it’s visiting the Surf Ballroom while in Iowa, or having a “play day” at the go-kart tracks in Franklin, NC, the Men live life to the fullest.
And why not? After all, life is to be lived! So the next time you’re looking over the concert calendar, look past the venue and city name and consider how you, too, could take full advantage of the opportunities presented you. The Men will be in some very exciting cities this year: Houston, Texas, Atlanta, Georgia, and Los Angeles, California to name just a few. But you may be pleasantly surprised if you take a closer look at some of the lesser known cities.
Did you know that the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota, Florida is just 15 minutes away from Siesta Key, dubbed the nations #1 beach by “Dr. Beach”? And only one hour from Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, and two hours from Disney World!
At a glance, Fort Collins,Colorado may not sound very exciting, but it’s actually only an hour outside of Denver! Denver, Colorado in April – what a wonderful vacation opportunity that would make.
The Midtown Men’s next stop is Selbyville, Delaware, where they will share their fabulous 60s sound with a sold-out crowd at The Freeman Stage at Bayside. Sounds like great fun – an outdoor summer concert on a Wednesday evening. But how about extending that stay into the weekend? There are so many fabulous places to visit within a two hour drive.
I will list a few of those “things to do” in the first installation of a new Midtown Club series titled “Next Stop”… stay tuned!
