The Midtown Men Concert Calendar has been updated through December, 2012. Check it out! And when you find a show near you, we want to hear about it. Please leave a comment on the Calendar page and let the fans know when and where you’ll be seeing the MEN.
Then take it one step further and visit the STREET CREW page. We’d love to hear your ideas on spreading the word in areas of the country that you are familiar with. And we’re always on the lookout for Street Crew members. Just leave a comment or send an e-mail to tmmclub@ comcast.net and I’ll be in touch.
Another great promotional tool is old fashioned WORD OF MOUTH. For instance, if you saw the show in Lexington, KY this year, you’d probably love to promote the Sept. 11 show in Ashland. There are so many wonderful “word of mouth” opportunities coming up in the next few months – Florida, Texas, Louisiana, New York, New Jersey…and on and on. Let’s get to work Midtown Men fans!
Keep checking back for added dates.
The Midtown Club would like to wish a belated but very heartfelt
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to DANIEL REICHARD!
Unfortunately, I spent the week away from home with very limited internet access, thus the “belated” wishes, but in honor of Daniel’s special day, I want to share one of my favorite “Daniel moments”.
This clip, from his 2007 “Christmas in Black and White” at the Metropolitan Room, showcases not only Daniel’s gorgeous voice, but his fabulous sense of humor, as well.

June 19th is National Martini Day! Who knew? The Midtown Men, that’s who! Christian, Bobby, and Daniel would like to share their favorite Martini with you - Cheers!
1 fresh Rosemary sprig
2½ fl oz Bombay london dry gin
1 fl oz St~Germain elderflower liqueur
Garnish: Rosemary sprig
Method: Strip rosemary leaves from stem and MUDDLE in base of shaker. Add other ingredients, SHAKE with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
And when that first martini hits the liver like a silver bullet, there is a sigh of contentment that can be heard in Dubuque – William Emerson, Jr.
(This quote is where the martini got it’s nickname of a Silver Bullet!)
Bobby prefers a Mexican Martini
4 limes, juiced
2 jalapeno-stuffed green olives
2 (1.5 fluid ounce) jiggers CABO WABO tequila
1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger orange liqueur
1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger sweetened lime juice
1/2 teaspoon superfine sugar
Moisten the edges of two martini glasses with a little lime juice, and then dip moistened edges into coarse salt. Place an olive in each glass.
Pour remaining lime juice into a cocktail shaker, and then add tequila, orange liqueur, sweetened lime juice, and sugar. Fill shaker with ice, shake vigorously, and strain into prepared glasses.
Probably the first true “martini” was concocted around 1911 at the Knickerbocker Hotel of New York by Martini de Arma di Taggia, who was head bartender at the time. He combined 1 part London Gin, 1 part Noilly Prat Vermouth and orange bitters, chilled over ice and then strained into a chilled glass. No one is really sure who added the olive – I like to think it was a hungry customer who decided to grab an olive or two and tossed one in the mouth and one in the drink for later! (popartdiva.com)
Daniel’s “French” Martini (and my favorite of the three!)
1-1/2 oz Vanilla Vodka
1/4 oz Chambord
1/4 oz Pineapple juice
1 twist lemon
Shake with ice and serve it up. Great for brunch or dessert!
Daniel Reichard is no stranger to the Joe’s Pub stage. And on Monday, June 18th he will be back up on that stage as host to Worst Ever Productions’ first New York City installment of Worst Audition Ever, an evening of comedy.
Information from the Joe’s Pub website:
Worst Audition Ever is an evening of comedy about a group of artists (actors, directors, dancers, etc.) telling their real stories about the all too familiar audition process. The format is simple – a blank stage with one microphone – making the shared stories truly intimate and personal. For anyone who has ever had an embarrassing moment “putting themselves out there” in the name of art, Worst Audition Ever presents a wry and candid evening of some of the most awkward moments in artistic vulnerability – because pain is best served funny and with cocktails.
Tyler Maynard (Little Mermaid, Altar Boyz)
Kevin Duda (The Book of Mormon)
Jena Friedman (Late NIght With David Letterman writer)
Jenna Leigh Green (Wicked, bare)
John West (The Drowsy Chaperone, Newsical the Musical)
Cheryl Stern (La Cage Aux Folles, Candide)
Hosted by Daniel Reichard (Jersey Boys original cast, Midtown Men)
Directed by Kristin Hanggi (Tony Nominated for Rock of Ages)
*All proceeds from the evening will benefit The Actors Fund.

Watching last night’s Tony Awards show has me reminiscing on some of my favorite Tony moments:
In 2006, Christian Hoff won a Tony Award for “Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical”, and his acceptance speech has been a youtube favorite ever since.
Also in 2006, the cast of Jersey Boys put on a wonderful performance, and it was obvious why they later took home the Tony for “Best Musical”.
J. Robert Spencer was nominated for “Best Performance by a Lead Actor in a Musical” at the 2009 Tony Awards. His performance on the show that night proved why.
The Midtown Men (Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard and J. Robert Spencer) treated the enthusiastic Franklin, NC crowd to a fabulous show – of course!
“What an amazingly fun show last night at the Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts! “
But you know what they say about all work and no play…
“We confessed to our audience that we spent the day at the go-kart tracks. You can’t take the kid out of the Man! “
“Thanks to our new friends in North Carolina for the overwhelming response to our show!”
Next stop, Baltimore, MD, where The Midtown Men will perform at the Beth Tfiloh annual Scholarship event. Click here for details.
